Public Housing Wait List Opening

 Housing Authority of the City of Charleston will be accepting ONLINE preliminary applications for Public Housing for all bedrooms.

Each bedroom size has been assigned a submission date. Applications will be accepted until the maximum number of applications is reached.

      Online applications will start at 11:00 am for the zero, one, two, and three-bedroom waiting list.

Online applications will start at 10:00 am for the four and five bedrooms.

Tuesday, March 28, 2023 – Five (5) Bedroom

10:00 am – 4:30 pm

Wednesday, March 29, 2023 – Four (4) Bedroom

10:00 am – 4:30 pm

Thursday, March 30, 2023 – Three (3) Bedroom

11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Friday, March 31, 2023 – Two (2) Bedroom

11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Monday, April 3, 2023 – One (1) Bedroom

11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Tuesday, April 4, 2023 – Zero (0) Bedroom (Studio)

11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Online applications will start at 11:00 am for the zero, one, two, and three-bedroom waiting list. Online applications will start at 10:00 am for the four and five bedrooms.

Those wishing to apply must complete the online application at https://chacity.myhousing.com/ during the designated timeframe. No applications will be accepted by mail, fax, or e-mail.

You may complete your online application by cell phone, tablet, or computer where there is internet or wi-fi access.

If you are a person who is unable to complete an online application, due to a physical or mental impairment, such as blindness, amputation, etc., please call The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston on Monday, March 27, 2023, between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to complete a phone screening to request a reasonable accommodation at (843) 377-1818.

Should you qualify for a reasonable accommodation, you will be given an appointment to complete the application on Monday, March 27, 2023. Should you NOT qualify for a reasonable accommodation, you will be asked to complete the waitlist application online beginning Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 10:00 am.
