Due to the expected severe weather as a result of Hurricane Ian and potential flooding in the area, our offices will close at 3:00pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022, and will remain closed on Friday, September 30, 2022. The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston will resume normal business hours on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 8:00am. We encourage you to adhere to all weather alerts and travel advisories as they are announced through the local media outlets.

Also, please be reminded that all emergency work order requests will be prioritized and will only be responded to as the roads are deemed safe enough for travel. Because employee and resident safety are of high importance, please note that requests for routine work order repairs will be responded to on Monday, October 3, 2022.
NOTE: The following items are considered Maintenance Emergencies:
– A broken water line which cannot be shut off.
– A stopped up main sewer line or commode (if there is only one commode in your unit)
This does not include bathtubs, kitchen sinks, or washing machines
– You cannot close or secure the front or rear entrance doors
– There is a total loss of electrical power in the unit (only on the weekend)
– There is a gas leak inside or outside of the unit
– There is a problem with the water heater, refrigerator, or range (only on the weekend)
– There is no heat in the unit if the outside temperature is below 45 degrees.
DO NOT USE THE RANGE AS A SOURCE OF HEAT,
AND
Any item considered life threatening, hazardous to health of resident or causing major damage to the inside or outside of the unit.
