GRACE HOMES NOW ACCEPTING PRE-LEASE APPLICATIONS

NOW ACCEPTING UP TO 1000 PRE-LEASE APPLICATIONS. 

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION

APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE

 

The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston began pre-leasing its affordable housing development at 110 & 114 Cooper Street, Thursday, October 1st, 2020.


This development has income restrictions as follows:

1 – 2 persons (1 bedroom / 586-600 total sq.ft) - Per Month Rent: $1164
Minimum annual income of $14,400
Maximum salary $28,300

2 – 4 persons (2 bedrooms 782-965 total sq.ft. ) - Per Mo. Rent: $1327
Minimum annual income of $22,140
Maximum salary $36,450

3 – 6 persons (3 bd flat 1144 total sq.ft.) Per Mo. Rent: $1698
OR (3 bd loft total 1122-1376 sq.ft.) Per Mo. Rent: $1798
Minimum annual income of $28,880
Maximum salary $43,750 


The mix of units for very low income is:
25 - 1 bedroom
5 - 2 bedrooms
5 - 3 bedrooms

The mix of units for workforce housing is:
22 - 2 bedrooms
5 - 3 bedrooms

The Authority anticipates occupancy beginning November 1, 2020.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Applications for PRE-LEASE of a Grace Homes unit can only be recieved electronically at EHMG@CHACITY.ORG unless you request a reasonable accomodation by contacting the EHMG Management Office.  When you have completed the the pre-lease application you can click the SUBMIT button at the end to have your device email the application.  You can also complete the application then print or save the document as a PDF so that you can email the completed application to EHMG@CHACITY.ORG.  If you are having difficulty with the submit button, fully download or save the application file and THEN submit it.

A message from our President/Chief Executive Officer:

The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston was born of action on December 18, 1934 by a vote of the Charleston City Council. However, the actual permission for such a "creation" came via statute in the South Carolina General Assembly in March of 1934.

We have come a long way in our society, our City and our personal relationships. Nevertheless, the need for Public housing still exists today. We have so much more to do before we can truly say, the job is done.
