Ken Grimes joined Patterson at the company’s launch and has served as a Partner since 2016. He brings a unique combination of expertise in real estate investment banking and strategic marketing, allowing him to identify, evaluate, and communicate complex investment opportunities with clarity and insight.
As the leader of Patterson’s Charleston office, Ken is also a member of the firm’s leadership team, collaborating with colleagues across the organization on client engagements, business strategy, and corporate initiatives that drive the firm’s continued growth.
Before joining Patterson, Ken spent more than six years with Eastdil Secured, a premier real estate investment banking firm and wholly owned subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Company. During his tenure, he worked across multiple areas of the business, including multifamily investment sales, equity and debt placement, and capital markets transactions.
Prior to his career in commercial real estate, Ken built an extensive background in marketing, working on both the agency and corporate sides of the industry. He played a key role in brand development for boats.com, helped launch the Ketchum Sports Group, and managed strategic marketing initiatives for nationally recognized brands, including Delta, Bombardier, Clorox, Harley-Davidson, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Levi’s, Visa, Parke-Davis, and the Atlanta Super Bowl.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Ken developed a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors and life on the water. Today, he and his wife and daughter call Charleston home. When he’s not working with clients or leading strategic initiatives, Ken enjoys spending time outdoors, playing golf, and exploring Charleston often at a leisurely running pace through the city’s historic streets.
