Welcome Home! Our mission is to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing to citizens on low – to – moderate income. Since our inception in 1935, the Housing Authority of the City of Charleston has provided assistance to tens of thousands of families.

Every single night, over 4,000 households, roughly 9.2% of the population of the City of Charleston, are occupied by families who receive housing assistance through our Agency.
