Wait List Opening for Esau Jenkins Village 

The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston is announcing an opportunity for individuals aged 62 years and older to submit ONLINE preliminary applications for Esau Jenkins Village. Available units include Two (2) Bedrooms. The application window will open on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

To apply, visit www.chacity.org or http://housing.chacity.org and fill out the online application within the specified timeframe. Please note that applications submitted by mail, fax, or email will not be accepted. You can conveniently complete your application using a cell phone, tablet, or computer with internet or Wi-Fi access.

If you are a person who is unable to complete an online application due to a physical or mental impairment, such as blindness or amputation (HANDS), etc., please call the Housing Authority of the City of Charleston on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM for a phone screening (ONLY) for a reasonable accommodation at (843) 377-1818.

If you qualify for a reasonable accommodation, you will be given an appointment to complete the application on Thursday, July 16, 2026. If you do NOT qualify for a reasonable accommodation, you will need to complete the waitlist application online on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
