Wait List Opening – Low Income Public Housing (LIPH) – Zero (0), One (1), Two (2), Three (3), Four (4), and Five (5) bedrooms

The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston is announcing an opportunity to submit ONLINE preliminary applications for Low Income Public Housing (LIPH). Available units include Zero (0), One (1), Two (2), Three (3), Four (4), and Five (5) bedrooms. The application window will open on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

**Please note that applicants must have a verified homelessness status to be eligible for this property. Applicants who meet this requirement are welcome to join the waitlist and will be contacted if a unit becomes available.**

To apply, visit www.chacity.org or http://housing.chacity.org and fill out the online application within the specified timeframe. Please note that applications submitted by mail, fax, or email will not be accepted. You can conveniently complete your application using a cell phone, tablet, or computer with internet or Wi-Fi access.

If you are a person who is unable to complete an online application due to a physical or mental impairment, such as blindness or amputation (HANDS), etc., please call the Housing Authority of the City of Charleston on Monday, May 11, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM for a phone screening (ONLY) for a reasonable accommodation at (843) 377-1818.

If you qualify for a reasonable accommodation, you will be given an appointment to complete the application on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. If you do NOT qualify for a reasonable accommodation, you will need to complete the waitlist application online on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
